When we designed these villas, we thought about every detail. The craftsmanship in the local wood that adorns the villa, the combination of marble and tiling in the bathroom, plush duvets and grand wall decor, all to a backdrop of lush green jungle and blue waters.

Makanda by the Sea is an adults-only boutique hotel set into a jungle hillside above the Pacific in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Complimentary golf carts carry you between your villa, the infinity pool, Shanti Spa and Árbol Restaurant. A secluded wild beach is accessible from the property; Manuel Antonio Beach is about a ten-minute walk.

Which pool does the villa have?
A big private infinity pool overlooking the Pacific, with the sound of its waterfalls. The Sky Penthouse also has a private infinity pool, on the top floor.
How many guests can stay?
Designed for two people. Makanda is adults only, 18 and over.
Is breakfast included?
With direct bookings, yes: the Full Breakfast over the Pacific each morning. Booked elsewhere, it is $45 per person, or order à la carte.
Can we have the Floating Breakfast here?
Yes. It is served right in your pool: elegant dishes, fresh fruit, aromatic coffee and refreshing drinks.
How do we get around the hillside?
Golf cart use is available on request, including to our wild beach. Walking trails and roads are also accessible.
