Where the Loft Sits

Makanda by the Sea is an adults-only boutique hotel set into a jungle hillside above the Pacific in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Complimentary golf carts carry you between your loft, the infinity pool, Shanti Spa and Árbol Restaurant. A secluded wild beach is accessible from the property; Manuel Antonio Beach is about a ten-minute walk.

Does the loft have a pool?

No private pool. The loft has a bathtub and a separate rain shower; the hotel’s infinity pool and Ocean Club lounge are for all Makanda guests, with complimentary golf-cart service.

How many guests can stay?

Designed for two people. Makanda is adults only, 18 and over.

Is breakfast included?

With direct bookings, yes: the Full Breakfast over the Pacific each morning. Booked elsewhere, it is $45 per person, or order à la carte.

What is the view?

Sweeping views of the ocean and treetops from the loft and its private balcony.

How do we get around the hillside?

Golf cart use is available on request, including to our wild beach. Walking trails and roads are also accessible.
